Water: A Healthy Drink for Optimum Wellbeing

Water: A Healthy Drink for Optimum Wellbeing

Water is the best choice for satisfying your thirst. Have you noticed that when you feel thirsty and you take a soft drink it does not really quench your thirst? Other healthy choices are Coffee and tea, without added sweeteners. In general, beverages should be consumed with restraint, including diet drinks, fruit juice and milk.  Alcohol in moderation can also be healthy for some people (emphasis on SOME), but not everyone.  Stay away from sugary drinks like soda, sports beverages, and energy drinks as much as you can.

Water provides all the body needs to restore fluids lost through metabolism, breathing, sweating, and the removal of waste. It’s the perfect beverage for satisfying thirst and re-hydrating the body system. There is no particular estimate for how much water the average human being needs each day. Instead, the Institute of Medicine has set an adequate intake of about 15 cups for men and about 11 cup for women. Water is an excellent calorie-free, sugar-free choice.
