Shortly after sacking the Special Assistant on New Media to the Deputy Governor of Ondo State, Allen Sowore, the Chief Press Secretary to the Deputy Governor, Babatope Okeowo has also been sacked by the Governor, Akeredolu.
Mr Okeowo was sacked alongside five other aides of the Deputy Governor, Agboola Ajayi and his wife.
The aides of the Deputy Governor were sacked few days after their boss resigned from APC for PDP.
Mr Ajayi had quit the APC following months of unfriendly relationship with the governor, after which he picked the membership card of the PDP.
Moments after his resignation from APC, the Deputy Governor revealed that he will not resign from office, stressing that the people who gave him the mandate did not ask him to resign as deputy governor.
Those sacked were Mr Olomu Bayo, Special Assistant, Special Duties; Mr. Olawale Abolade Mukaila, Special Assistant Photography; Mr. Babatope Okeowo, Deputy Chief Press Secretary; Mr. Samuel Sam Ogunmusi Personal Assistant (Deputy Governor); Mr. Tokunbo Omotunmis Special Assistant to the wife of the Deputy Governor; Mrs Erifeyiwa Shola Akinnugba (Photography, wife of the Deputy Governor) and Mr Allen Sowore, Special Assistant on New Media.
A statement by Chief Press Secretary to Akeredolu, Mr. Segun Ajiboye, said the affected aides were advised to submit all government’s properties in their possession to the Chief of Staff to the Governor.
The statement said Governor Akeredolu wished them luck in their future endeavours.
