The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) announced the postponement of the presidential elections and governorship elections by one week.

The presidential election which was to hold today 16th February will now take place of the 23rd of February 2019.
This announcement by INEC has been greeted with very angry responses from Nigerians.
“When our uncaring airlines postpone our flights & just tell us it’s for “operational reasons”, they at least pretend to “regret any inconveniences this may cause.” INEC couldn’t even be bothered to pretend that it regrets any inconveniences caused to us. Poor!” – Dr. Joe Abah
“INEC said logistics. “Logistsics” is one of the most fraudulently ambiguous words in the Nigerian lexicon. Like love, it covers a multitude of sins.” – Ayo Sogunro
“While we may be very disappointed with @inecnigeria preparation for the Presidential elections, we will not be discouraged.

It’s time for the #NewNigeria to emerge” – Fela Durotoye
The fact that the commission withheld such information till the morning of the election is very annoying.
It was rather obvious that they were not ready to conduct the elections after fire incidents were reported in more than three locations in different States.
Some Nigerians took permission to travel to their polling units so they can vote, what will happen to them? Will they have to apply for another leave to travel again?
Corps numbered who were supposed to help with the elections had to sleep in unsafe conditions last night, only to be informed this morning that the election has been postponed.

Any way you look at it INEC has disappointed Nigerians and they seem not to be apologetic about it.
