Pastor Sam Adeyemi gives His Two Pence on Election Postponement

The Senior Pastor of DayStar Christian Centre, Pastor Sam Adeyemi today gave his opinion on INEC’s decision to postpone the presidential election originally scheduled to hold on the 16th of February.
As he started the message in church on Sunday the 17th of February, he stated that the logistics problem given as the reason for the postponement is as a result of a cultural problem of mediocrity, incompetence and a lack of capacity of the Nigerian people.
He went on to explain that the INEC Chairman and National Commissioners had to depend on hundreds of companies and vendors who did not provide the service they were paid to deliver excellently.
“So before you blame INEC Chairman and other officials ask yourself if you were in charge do you have the competence and capacity to manage such a process? If your answer is no, keep quiet, and work on building such capacity and competence to deliver excellently.”
Pastor Sam also shared his opinion on the fact that economic activities are shutdown during elections. He said he looks forward to a time when we will conduct elections in Nigeria and will not need to shutdown movement, land boarders and other economic activities.
The presidential election will now hold on the 23rd of February 2019.
