Court Sacks Ifeanyi Ubah from National Assembly

Senator Ifeanyi Ubah of the Young Progressives Party has been removed from the National Assembly on grounds of forged National Examination Council Certificate (NECO) used to contest the Senatorial Election that held in the State on February 23, 2019, this was the decision of the High Court sitting in Bwari. Ifeanyi Ubah until now represented Anambra South district in the upper chamber of the National Assembly.

Justice Bello Kwanu in his ruling re-affirmed his decision made on April 11, 2019, which directed the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), to withdraw the Certificate of Return it issued to Ubah and issue a fresh one to Obinna Uzoh of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), who came second in the poll.

Ubah had approached the court to set aside the judgement which he insisted was an injustice to him, he cried out that he was neither served with the court processes nor hearing notice with respect to the suit before the court proceeded to deliver the judgement against him.
