Everybody goes through tough times and encounter crisis situations. When the going gets tough, it’s very easy to look for a soft landing or a safe place. It is inherent in us to try to avoid risks at any cost. We would rather flow with the tide, or do the norm. We are almost always scared of stepping out of our comfort zone or thinking outside the box.
Robert H. Schuller wrote a book titled “tough times don’t last, but tough people do”. In it, he believes that if you name your problem, you name your possibility. He explains that no matter how tough times get, you have the potential to achieve the best of life. When things get hard, crisis arise or situations get ugly, it’s not a time to get emotional, or brood and cry. It’s a time to go the hard way – go hard on yourself, dig deeper, pursue without looking back and give it your all.
The world we’re in has no chance for a weakling. If you leave yourself at the mercy of the world, you’ll end up damaged, used without any credit to your name. Little wonder entrepreneurs are some of the strongest minds on earth. They capitalize on tough and critical situations. When crisis arise, they dig deeper and turn the situation to their advantage. This is when they seek out problems and provide solutions to them gradually penetrating the market and homes of their proposed clients. They take risks and take paths no one has venture into. They stretch themselves and go all in despite their fears.
Just like today, coronavirus has brought a strain in the world and people and things have to adjust. Seize opportunities, develop your skills and talents, show up, build yourself even if it is from the scratch. Go hard on yourself. Gold must pass through the fire if it will be useful. It may cost you a lot, but if you choose stones in times of crisis, you’ll rest well when the going gets well.
