Senate President, Ahmad Lawan, has officially welcomed the Chief Whip of the Senate, Senator Orji Uzor Kalu, back to the Senate.
Senator Kalu arrived at the National Assembly complex at about 9 am on Tuesday morning.
“I just want to thank God for everything that has happened.
“It is the will of God. I want to urge Nigerians to keep hope alive,” he told reporters before entering the building.
Senator Orji Uzor Kalu was jailed for 12 years in December 2019 over allegation of misappropriation of Abia’s state funds to the tune of N7.6 billion.
During a courtesy visit to Senator Kalu upon his release from the Kuje prison, the speaker of the House of Representatives, Femi Gbajabiamila, represented by his deputy Ahmed Idris who led other principal officers to the house of the senator, stated that the leadership of the lower chamber was in sympathy with Sen. Kalu who he described as a man of destiny.
He urged Sen. Kalu to take his experience as a life’s lesson and put everything before God, adding that we are just players in the game of fate.
