A major symptom of vitamin D deficiency is rickets; a softening or weakness of bones leading to bow legs and other bone abnormalities. An overdose of vitamin D can cause fatigue, headache, nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea in its early stage. Later, it can manifest as impairment, deposits of calcium salts in the kidney, osteoporosis of the bones, calcium deposits in soft body tissues.
