Dance Gathering, an innovative dance festival that made its debut last year to rave reviews from critics, participants, and a resounding ‘we want more’ from the attendees, hit Broad Street, Lagos, on February 24 – 25, 2018.
This year’s edition, with the theme ‘Body and Memory,’ focused on diverse forms of creative endeavours that explore the body, as a storehouse of memories and inherited traumas.
The alternative festival, Dance gathering, was organised by Qudus Onikeku’s QDance Center, in collaboration with like minds from across Nigeria and abroad.
The objective is to initiate a space of anti-disciplinary practice in Lagos, where creatives gather to work on ideas that don’t necessarily fit into one discipline.
