The Police Officer, Mr. Olaniyi Ogunsoro who was responsible for the death of Remo Football Star, Tiamiyu Kazeem, has been dismissed from the service following the incidence on Saturday.
Mr. Ogunsoro who is a Special Anti-Robbery Squad officer (SARS) was dismissed following the approval by the Assistant Inspector General of Police in charge of Zone II, Mr. Ahmed Iliyasu. Mr. Abimbola Oyeyemi, who is the Ogun State Police Public Relations Officer, confirmed the dismissal of Ogunsoro.
The SARS officer was alleged to have arrested the footballer, popularly called Kaka, in Sagamu on the pretext that he was wearing military camouflage to terrorize the community after which Kaka was allegedly pushed out of the car on their way to Abeokuta. Kaka was knocked down by an oncoming vehicle and was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.
The father of the deceased, Fasasi said the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Criminal Investigation Department, Force Headquarters, Mr Ogunyonwon Peter, visited his family and promised to ensure that any officer involved in the death of Kaka is made to face justice.
Ogun State Governor, Dapo Abiodun also visited the grieving family and promised to ensure that justice is served.
