The murder of George Floyd sparked national outrage and protest across America on police brutality and brought public conversation on racism for over a week now.

Yesterday, the family, friends and guests of George Floyd gathered in Minneapolis for a memorial service Thursday. The Rev. Al Sharpton delivered a eulogy at the ceremony, saying Floyd “died of a common American criminal-justice malfunction.”
This was the first of several memorial services for Floyd.
A public viewing and a private service will be held Saturday in Raeford, North Carolina. Floyd was born in North Carolina.
On Monday, Floyd’s body will return to Houston, where there will be a public memorial and a private service. Floyd moved to Houston at a young age and called the city home.
The police men involved in his murder have been arrested and charged with murder.
