The genre ‘Electronic Dance Music’ (also initialised as EDM) is a broad range of electronic music specifically made for the purpose of festivals, parties, concerts, nightclubs and raves. Other sub genres of EDM includes, dubstep, techno, trance, house music and many others.
2018 has been a great year for EDM artists, from electrifying festivals like ‘Electric Zoo’ headlined by top EDM artists like Marshmello, Martin Garrix and Tiesto to ‘Pyscho Circus’ headlined by Afrojack, DJ Snake, Tiesto and Eric Prydz. It also marks a year of unforgettable hits like Sigala’s ‘Lullaby’ and Marshmellow’s ‘Friends’.
So here are five EDM albums/mixtapes for 2018 you need to keep dancing to. These arrangements therefore do not suggest which release is better than the other.
5. ALISON WONDERLAND – AWAKE
The Australian producer released her sophomore album following her successful Long Play three years ago. The 14 track project has a wide range of style, from pop inspired to trance to hip-hop and even trap. ‘Awake’ features Trippie Redd, Chief Keef and Buddy alongside collaborations with BLESSUS and SLUMBERJACK.
Alison describes the process of creating this project as an ‘honest wakeup call’ therefore she’s making personal changes.

4. YELLOW CLAW – NEW BLOOD
The Dutch DJ group specialized in hip-hop, dubstep, electro house as well as trap music and currently signed to their own label ‘Barong Family’ released their third studio album in June titled ‘New Blood’.
The album was produced under the inspiration of a musical travelogue reflecting their experiences during their world tours. ‘New Blood’ features vocalists as well as multiple producers including San Holo and A$AP FERG.

3. THE CHAINSMOKERS – SICK BOY… THIS FEELING
The Grammy award winner for best dance recording in 2017, The Chainsmokers released their 4th project this summer. The album contains songs that appears to be singles due to how they were released. The Chainsmokers are adopting a new method than the normal release cycle so they dropped one song at a time every month. Currently the EP has 7 songs and probably they’ll add in the following month(s).

2. SIGALA – BRIGHTER DAYS
Bruce Fielder professionally known as Sigala is an English DJ, record producer and remixer. He’s best known for his debut single in 2015 ‘Easy Love’ which debuted in the UK Singles Chart at 71 and number 1 in the following week.
Brighter Days is his debut studio album and was released on September 28. The album consists of 16 songs including his hit songs over the years.

1. DAVID GUETTA – 7
The French producer who has sold over 9 million albums and 30 million singles just recently released his seventh studio album titled 7.
7 features some of the biggest names in the music industry such as Lil Uzi Vert, Nicki Minaj, Justin Bieber as well as Sia. The album also features David Guetta’s DJ alter ego Jack Back. 7 ranges from pop, soul, electro and also trap. The 50 year old is not gonna stop at it.
