The House of Representatives on Tuesday, March 3rd, 2020, resolved to suspend plenary for two weeks to screen and detect symptoms of the deadly coronavirus, currently spreading fear across the country. The House said the period will allow the Management of the National Assembly and principal officers, provide screening and detection facilities at the complex. The green chamber reached the resolution following the adoption of a motion by Unyime Idem. Entitled “emergency response to the dreaded coronavirus,” while the Minority Leader, Ndudi Elumelu moved the amendment to adjourn plenary for two weeks.
