Over 100 persons have reportedly died in Hadejia Local Government Area in Jigawa State; prompting serious concerns among the residents of Hadejia.
The Incidence prompted the people of the area to cry out for help before the situation gets out of hand.
The Special Assistant to the Local Government Chairman on Media, Sani Kakabori, Confirmed the strange deaths noting that over one hundred people; mostly of old age, died within the last ten days.
The State Commissioner of health, Dr Abba Zakari, who is also the State Chairman for COVID-19 Taskforce ; disclosed that Jigawa State government has set-up a five-man committee to Investigate the increase in death rate in the community. The committee is expected to submit their reports within three days and make recommendations for appropriate actions.
Kano State is experiencing a number of mysterious deaths which has forced the state government to set up an investigative committee as well to look into the matter.
The state government initially said most of the deaths were not COVID-19 related but there are fears and concerns in many quarters that the deaths may be as a result of unreported Coronavirus cases.
