This is a story of a young Senegalese man who was sent on a mission to London by a religious leader linked to a terrorist group. The story depicts different views as to terrorism, whether it’s linked to the Islamic religion or as a result of the high level of unemployment.
Fallou gets to London and experiences a different lifestyle. He meets people and finds love. He’s left to make a decision to either complete his mission or adhere to his mother’s advice.
About the Director: Alassane Sy is a Mauritania-born actor and director who relocated to Senegal in the mid-eighties. In his late teens, Sy moved to Paris and then New York, where he worked as a model. A magazine shoot brought him to the attention of photographer and director Andrew Dosunmu, who cast Sy as the lead for his feature film, Restless City, which debuted at the 2011 Sundance Film Festival and launched Sy’s acting career. Now based in London, he starred in Mediterranea, directed by Jonas Carpignano, which was nominated for the Critics Choice Awards at the 2015 Cannes Festival. Along with his short film Marabout, his other projects include the lead role in Sega, directed by Idil Ibrahim, a role in The Drifters, feature film directed by Ben Bond and a role in White Colour Blackdirected by Joseph A. Adesunloye.
