The Taraba State government has declared the opening of Worship Centres in the state. The state government gave a warning to the residents of the state to strictly comply with the COVID-19 guidelines already made known to them. The announcement of the re-opening of religious activities in the state was made by The State deputy governor, Haruna Manu, on Monday, 18th May 2020 in a live broadcast.
Manu urged the residents to stick to the already announced precautionary measures against the global pandemic, declaring that the state government has eased the restriction of movement and other activities across the State. He said: “Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays have been set aside to enable the residents to carry out their activities from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m.”
“The lockdown would still be maintained from Mondays to Thursdays while the weekends free for religious activities. The Taraba State government urges religious heads and residents to adhere to the order, warning that violators of the order will be dealt with.”
