Hi I am Kafilat, you can call me Kaffy or coffee or café….you get I am down to earth I am where you are and where you have been and on the same path to the future we all seek.
This is me telling my adulthood story…even though I have tried to unsubscribe from this stage of life but the code they sent didn’t work. In case you are wondering where I will like to go….childhood, teenage years….those years of freedom, little or no responsibility and a full gallon of freedom.
Interestingly if I knew I will miss being a child I wouldn’t have been eager to leave that stage, but don’t worry, though I left that stage I refused to allow the child in me die.
I choose to keep my sense of humor, my sense of fun and mischief, my belief that all babies are beautiful, that there is always hope and true love exist; the freedom to dance where I find music without fear of criticism and the joy of being alive.
I choose not to be overwhelmed by my duty as a wife and my placement as a mother or my ambition as a woman…. I choose to dance, what about you? What are the choices you make daily? Do you still remember your heart song and the rhythm you swing to when no music is playing and no one is looking? When last did you gist with your four year old self?
Sometimes being an adult is a lot of work, this is me inviting you to a place where you can take off the mask on your face. Smile, you don’t need a reason for it. Besides, being alive is enough reason to smile.
Come, it is an adventure, let’s walk this path together.
Remember this song…. I hope you dance
I hope you never lose your sense of wonder
I hope you still feel small when you stand beside the ocean… etc.
I look forward to hearing from you till next week….keep that smile on your face…. Feyin e!!!!

Ok dear. Next episode coming right up
When last did you gist with your four year old self?
Wow, I don’t even remember what my 4yr old self felt like. I guess cos I experienced a tragedy at 9 and my life got turned upside down since then.
In truth though, adulting can sometimes be quite a chore. I am grateful though, that I’m learning to mature in the adulting process and gain a perspective of gratitude and privilege.
Thanks for this post, it’s food for thought!
