Justin Trudeau’s Donation to Global Citizen Cause not Approved by Canadians

Prime Minister Justin Trudeau, made a commitment to the Nelson Mandela100 cause by pledging a donation of $50M.

“Hey @Trevornoah – thanks for everything you’re doing to celebrate Nelson Mandela’s legacy at the @GlblCtzn festival. Sorry I can’t be with you – but how about Canada pledges $50M to @EduCannotWait to support education for women & girls around the world? Work for you? Let’s do it.”
This tweet received a backlash from Canadians who responded with comments urging the PM to focus on Canada.
On 2December, 2018, Global Citizen brought together its largest contingency of heads of state, dignitaries, a group of the world’s most talented artists and influencers, and thousands of global citizens to celebrate the centenary of Nelson Mandela.
