Omoni Oboli, a popular actor, producer and director announced she was back in Nigeria to vote with a tweet on the 15th of February, before it was postponed to 23rd.
Although she expressed her shock and disappointed due to the postponement it was clear she was looking forward to exercising her franchise today.
The real reason I am writing this piece is her show of service and patriotism at her polling unit today. It is one thing to encourage people to go out to vote as a celebrity and a different ball game to present yourself to serve excellently while you case your vote.
Omoni Oboli did not have to offer herself to serve at her polling unit. She could have done what her colleagues did, take pictures at their polling unit, vote and leave.
