Breastfeeding Week 2019

Breastfeeding Week 2019

World #Breastfeeding Week begins today, 1st August. It’s a week set aside to create awareness on the importance of breastfeeding and advocate for the adoption of best practices.

The importance of breastfeeding cannot be overemphasized. Working with mothers helped me understand why we need to put more effort in educating mothers on the benefits of breastmilk for their babies. Exclusive breastfeeding is highly recommended.

I always encourage mothers to see exclusive #breastfeeding as an investment and not an additional stress. You are safeguarding the life of your child and increasing his or her chance to live a healthy and fulfilled life as an adult.

As a Nutritionist, I met mothers who committed to exclusively #breastfeeding their babies for 6months in the community. I celebrated them for their investment in the future of that child. I know it is not easy, but I promise you it is worth it. #breastfeedingweek.
